Kryptographik is a trans-continental podcast featuring Brian (in the U.S.) and Damian (in Australia), providing news, reviews, and commentary regarding science-fiction, dark fantasy and horror, in and out of comics.

In our 16th podcast, we interviewed Buz Hasson and Ken Haeser, creators of The Living Corpse, being published by Zenescope Entertainment, and available in comic shops this November. We also (finally) have our Wizard World Chicago report, from a fellow Kryptographer known as Big D on the ComicMonsters.com forum.

Kryptographik SF, Dark Fantasy and Horror Podcast Direktor's Kut 3

Kryptographik is a trans-continental podcast featuring Brian (in the U.S.) and Damian (in Australia), providing news, reviews, and commentary regarding science-fiction, dark fantasy and horror, in and out of comics.

This is the third in our series of 'Direktor's Kuts', featuring an interview followed by a DVD-style commentary track, where we go page-by-page with the creators and discuss the thought processes behind each scene, how it was rendered and how it relates to future issues.

In this episode, we're joined by Ed Lavalee & Grant Bond, creators of Revere: Revolution In Silver, recently published as a hardcover graphic novel by A.S.P. (Archaia Studios Press). Inspired in part by Longfellow's poem 'Paul Revere's Ride', this book chronicles the secret life of Paul Revere - silversmith and monster hunter.

Despite some audio issues for a few minutes towards the middle of the podcast, this Direktor's Kut  is highly recommended to both fans of the original mini-series and people picking up the hardcover for the first time, for it's insight into both the story and the creative process - from pacing and art choices to working with different publishers and editors.

Even if you haven't picked up Revere yet, there's a 20 minute interview before the commentary for the first issue starts, which should give you enough time to get to your favorite comic shop or bookstore and pick up a copy.

If they're sold out, your comic shop can re-order it using Diamond code: MAY073193. You can order it online or through a local bookstore with ISBN: 1932386599.
